Tara is an Asian American writer based in Boston, where they spend most of their time playing TTRPGs & romancing video game NPCs. When they aren’t lost in imaginary worlds, they’re happily annoying their wife, Audrey, and their dog, Gingko. Their debut novel Single Player is a delightful queer enemies-to-lovers workplace romance about two video game creators going head-to-head—and falling in love along the way!

Lenora is a writer hailing from Austin, Texas who now calls Malden home! When she’s not writing, you can find her hiking, rolling dice, or pretending to be an elf at her local Renaissance Faire. Tap into Birding! An Introductory Workshop for the Bird Curious!

Pop in for a delicious pint at Idle Hands Craft Ales and leave with a new understanding of birds and birding. This interactive workshop will change how you think about these things with feathers and set you up for a birding adventure! Birding is for everyone—a great way to get in a walk, connect with nature, and be awed by what you discover. Presented by birders from the Boston Birding Festival and Great Malden Outdoors.

We'll follow up with a walk on October 4 in the Middlesex Fells, where you can put your new knowledge into action! Register separately for that event here.

Beginner workshops are perfect for you to grab your friends, grab a drink and come make tiny trees! We’re bringing the awesome art of bonsai out of the hedged in gardens and into the streets! Or at least into your favorite bars/breweries/pubs. Bonsai Bar is a night of fun you don’t want to miss. Learn the fundamental skills and techniques behind the art of bonsai while enjoying a night out with friends! Our teachers will introduce core concepts and guide your experience as you pot, prune, and design your very own bonsai tree!

Drafts and Crafts Class: Linocut Printmaking

Come for a pint and leave with frameable prints you design yourself. Linocut printing involves cutting into a sheet of linoleum, inking and printing the uncut areas. Chie Yasuda will guide you in creating a design, such as a landscape or an abstract, that you will carve into your linoleum. When you place your carved, inked up linoleum face down on a sheet of paper, the printed image will appear as a mirror image of what you have carved into your linoleum with awesome results.

No experience needed — All materials will be provided. $45

It's time to do some more good for the neighborhood! This Saturday, at 10am we will be joining The Great Malden Outdoors for a Waitts Mount Cleanup.

After the cleanup head to the Taproom where $1 from every pour will be donated to The Great Malden Outdoors.
