What to Expect
In this Victorian-era adventure pub crawl– inspired by the the book Abel Bodied: Murder at the Malden Bank written by Malden-native Michael Cloherty, and a real Malden historical 1863 murder – you and your companions will be taking on the role of investigators. You will visit four different bar/restaurant locations and meet a host of interactive characters, and interview them. Many of them will have pen & paper puzzles that you can solve to further unlock clues about the case. At the end of your adventure, by analyzing the clues and motive, means, and opportunity, you will try and identify who is the culprit!
Tickets are spread out in 20 minute increments beginning at 5pm with the event wrapping by 10pm. Choose the time slot for your group to show up and begin your adventure. Depending on the pace of your group it can take anywhere from 1 - 3 hours to complete. You set the pace based on how long you take to solve the challenges and linger at each location to enjoy food and drink.
Story Overview
It's been over 2 months since the December 15, 1963 murder of Frank Converse at the Malden Bank. You have been contacted by E. S. Converse, President of the Malden Bank, to track down a witness statement that contains the identity of the person who murdered Frank Converse, his son. It has been nearly two months since Frank’s murder, and the town is growing desperate to find out who committed the heinous crime! Converse is offering a $6000 reward to anyone who can solve the murder. There was a single witness, but the person is afraid to reveal their identity for fear of reprisal. They have locked their statement in a lockbox that is now in the possession of the town's Constable, and hidden the combination in different locations in Malden.
Your Role
You and your fellow investigators (up to 8 in a group) are all Private citizens that have decided to band together and take on this investigation, since Malden has no formal police force as of yet.
Locations
This Pub Crawl takes you to multiple locations in downtown Malden connected to the historical murder that are also now conveniently drinking establishments! But this is not just a pub crawl! At each location you will encounter interesting characters who will present you with challenges and puzzles to solve to unlock the mystery behind the murder. Decide who to help, and see if you can solve the crime!

LOCATION 4: Faces Brewing Co.- 50 Pleasant St, Malden, MA 02148
This is an easy 15-minute walking course and all locations are ADA accessible. There is plenty of parking in the area should you need to drive from one location to the next and accessible parking and entry to the spaces.
